Capacity Building Workshop for the Directory of Labour and Vocational Training Staff from Federal Government MoLSA - In Sulaimani, Iraq - 05 - 07 October 2026 Background and purpose / Objective for this Service: Credit Analysis for MoLSA Staff The promotion of the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) plays a central role in fostering inclusive economic growth, job creation, and resilience in Iraq. In partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) and with financial support from KfW, the International Labour Organization (ILO) is implementing the Promotion of the Development of SMEs in Iraq Project. As part of these efforts, strengthening the capacity of MoLSA staff in the area of Credit Analysis is important to support the Ministry's engagement with SMEs and financial institutions and to enhance the quality of financial assessment undertaken in the context of SME financing and related programmes. Credit analysis provides a structured approach to assessing the financial health, repayment capacity, business viability, risks, and financing needs of an enterprise. Developing practical knowledge in this area can enable MoLSA staff to better understand the requirements of financial institutions, engage more effectively with SMEs and prospective borrowers, and contribute to more informed and responsible decisions related to access to finance.
