Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer SLD (Single-Line Diagram) Pretoria West Qualifications & Requirements: - BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering. - 2â5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering (preferably LV/MV systems). - Experience with solar PV, commercial inverters, microgrids, and grid code compliance in both LV and MV situations. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink) - CAD software for schematic design - Understand protection equipment - Reticulation design and familiarity with power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs). Key Responsibilities: - Design & Development: Conceptualize and design power electronics circuits, including inverter topologies, magnetic components, SLDâs for products. - Testing & Validation: Write and perform hands-on testing of prototypes. Understanding of inverter safety standards is a plus. - Production Support: Optimize manufacturing processes following quality standards (e.g., ISO9001). - Component Evaluation: Evaluate and select components for efficiency, cost-saving, and obsolescence management. - Technical Documentation: Create and maintain schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical reports.Â
